Should I change schools?

hi guys! I am currently a freshman in HS and I got an opportunity to go to an early college (a school that allows you to get an associates degree for free). I have been really anxious for a letter and I really didn't think id get in, and I did. the high school I go to now is very supporting with every event that happens and the whole school community it very caring and loving. at the beginning of the year, I didn't really care about transferring but now I don't really want to at all being I am starting to have wonderful friends! I have until the end of the year to decide, but I feel like I should make the decision sooner rather than later. I really need the 2 years off of my college because the occupation I want to do requires about 10 years of schooling so anytime off would be great! I am not sure if I want to sacrifice my high school years to be drowned in school work, but I know this is a great opportunity that I should take! Please help me with my decision, thank you.

Absolutely do it! I'm sorry if this is negative and maybe it's just because that's how it worked our for me, but in 10 years not a single one of those friends will matter. You will have new friends. Plus you're only a freshman, you'll make new friends and lose friends each year. This is a great opportunity for you. Best of luck :)

I think it's a great opportunity.  It will be a lot of work, but if you know it will take that long to finish your schooling, it may be a good choice to get started as early as possible.

I think you should jump at the chance you were given. I'm friends with some high school friends but for the most part,  our lives are really different and we have unfortunately become acquaintances due to our choiced we made post high school. Nothing bad, but just in  different circles now.

Plus, youll be skipping all the juvenile drama.  Trust me, you will meet dramatic people your entire life, but the high school stuff can be the worst.

Not to mention the other benefits of starting your college education early, saving money, etc. Also, those in between breaks you mentioned are sooooo worth it!

You're extremely lucky! Jump at the opportunity. You wont regret it later in life :) you got a pretty swet deal!

I personally don't miss high school. Infact, I graduated a year early because I cared for it so little!! If I had to do it all over again I would have graduated in 2 years, not 3!!!

Really tough decision I can see why you are struggling to make it, especially if you're settled in high school. It sounds like an incredible opportunity though, especially if it takes years off your college, it's not just the money you'll save but when you're in college late into your 20s it can be hard seeing your friends moving on in adulthood and being still at school. You'll be amazed by how adaptable you are to the new place though, I'm sure  you'll love it as much as your high school in no time. Good luck!

Get the years off it will also save you money. If the friends you have made are true friends they will keep in touch. But as someone said I barely talk to anyone I went to high school with and I was in band with like 164 as a family. We swore lifetime bonds. If I had the opportunity I would take it in a heartbeat. You can make friends at your new school as well.

I think this is a great opportunity for you. I know it seems like it might not be worth it now but I can promise you in the long run it will be. You will thank yourself someday. The great thing about this day in age is you can stay connected to friends even if your not at the same school. If you loose connections with people, it's not the end of the world. You are so young. I'm very impressed you're giving serious thought to this. I say jump in with both feet and hit the ground running!! Congrats on getting in!
