I'm getting married next November and I mentioned to my fiancé that I'd like to double barrel my name so I can keep my surname as well because part of me just doesn't want to let it go due to it being the last thing from my grandad (my biological dad and Mum split when I was young so I never took his name I took my mums maiden name)

My fiancé is totally fine with this. I got speaking to my cousin about it and she mentioned that her brothers wife double barrelled her name, but instead of having her husbands name first she had her maiden name first. And the reason she did it this way was because her sister is feminist.

I was a little confused by this... part of me thought that my cousin would be offended or upset by his wife having her maiden name first, and secondly why would you do it for your sisters sake?! Just because she's a feminist. Surly it would be upto you because after all it's your name you'd be changing..
