Getting over someone

I need advice on how to get over a past lover. We was never together just friends with benefits but I caught feelings for him and he's not very serious. He rather have multiple females than to be with one. I was very faithful to him. Didn't have sex with no one else but him and now our relationship aren't as it was. We haven't had sex in 4 months nor seen each other but he still texts me and tell me he misses me. I told him about a week ago and told him I wanted us to stop messing around and he texted me back okay, but later told me he still want me. I really do love him like hell but I'm tired and I want a man that treats me like a princess. How do I leave him without going back to him??? Cuz every time I leave him I always go back to him because I feel lonely and I can't stop thinking about him and I can't talk to other guys. Helppppp
