Sitting up-6months

Are your 6 months old sitting up unsupported? My daughter HATES sitting. We don't practice it much with her because she's so squirmy and arches her back or launches her head backwards so that she can lay down and crawl. She's been crawling/creeping since 4 1/2 months but she's nearing six months and will not sit up alone. My first daughter started sitting up at 5 months. And crawling at 6/7 months. Also, are your 6month olds crawling?
