Itchy after sex?

I am 13 weeks PP from a natural vaginal delivery with a 1st degree tear and a few stitches. No issues healing and I was cleared for sex around 5 1/2 weeks. my husband and I have had sex sporadically, maybe a dozen times total. it was painful for the first two times but back to normal after.

My vagina and then labia almost consistently become extremely itchy one or two days after. I don't ever have any discharge and I did take monistat twice that seemed to clear the symptoms. I've never had a yeast infection before in my life.

I should also mention that I am breastfeeding. Is the itching related to my tear healing? or is it normal to be more prone to yeast infection with all the hormonal changes?

I trust my husband and my only symptom is itching, so I have a very very low suspicion for a STI.

anybody experience something like this?
