My doctor recommended I take folic acid while trying to conceive, does it really help?

It is to help prevent neural tube defects, and needs to be taken for at least a month prior to conception and then for the first 3 months of pregnancy. It probably won't help you conceive but if you're trying to get pregnant surely you want a healthy bub? ☺ Baby dust to you. xo

I was told the same but I hear a lot of bad stuff to so now I'm worryed about talking them I hear the cause you to have miscarriages more but then again I hear that it prevents it so I'm not sure what to believe can anyone help

yes. I was taking one a day preconception, extra folic acid, and uses preseed with my first pregnancy. did all of his for our first three months of hard core "trying" we stopped after three months of bfn and the next month I was pregnant

I think it's just good to get on it so that baby is getting good stuff even at the very early stages :) I still had coffee and wine and such while TTC but I also took a prenatal with folic acid

I took folic acid after trying to conceive for seven months after two months of taking it I conceived . I dunno if it was a coincidence or not

Maybe, maybe not. But it will help protect against birth defects like spina bifida!

For me personally I took it for couple of months and nothing happened but everyone is different
