Am I in the wrong?

Question

One of my pet hates is fiddling. Such as picking nails, picking scabs, repetitive tapping etc. my husband does all of the above and when I can't stand it any longer and ask him to stop, he gets mad and quite often deliberately does it even more just to wind me up. Am I in the wrong for telling him when he's annoying me? He hates it when I use a pedicure on my feet so I always do it away from him. I would understand if I go crazy but I just ask him to stop.

It could easily be an ocd comforting mechanism he does without realizing, as a way to keep his mind focused on something other than thoughts in his head. Such as stressfull or upsetting things he would rather not think about or dwell on, and the repetitive action of what he is doing is calming. You telling him to stop makes him upset likely because it sends him back into discomfort when he stops.

My boyfriend HATES when I cough repeatedly and I hate when I hear people chew too loud.. It's just one of those things that's annoying, but don't let it cause problems.

Sounds like a compulsion.  He isnt trying to be annoying.  Maybe look into some therapy.

Don't let it get to you that much. My husband has a tick that sounds much more severe than what your husband does. I found it odd in the beginning and it bugged me but honestly, it doesn't bother me anymore. There's no reason for it to bother me because he can't help it. It's a compulsion. He's done it since he was a toddler. I love him. A compulsion of his will not change my love for him. That's all that matters.

Your boyfriend might have ADHD. Most of my family has been diagnosed and too calm themselves they fidget.
