What should 6th month old eat?

My God daughter's mother is feeding baby one bottle (formula) at night; the rest of the day she feeds her baby food. Is that okay? I thought at this age baby food should compliment her milk and not replace those feedings.

Yikes! This is definitely not okay. Like you said, the formula is the most important thing for baby nutritionally before age one. She should still be drinking formula every few hours. Is she possibly trying to save money on formula? She's risking improper brain development among other serious malnourishment issues!
