Any type 1 diabetics?

This seemed like the best forum for this... is anyone else t1d and trying to conceive for the first time?! What are your a1cs and what has your journey been to get it there? Any birth plans? I'm just curious about what others are doing, I don't see much about it it these groups ✌️💙

I'm not sure why your doctor told you that you're only limited to one child because you're a T1D. That is simply a FALSE statement. You're already considered high risk because you're a type one Diabetic, by that doesn't mean it isn't safe for you to have more than one. 
I'm a T1D, my aunt is a T1D - she has two kids, and one of my besties is a T1D with three children. 
I'm pregnant with my first, 4 +6. It's been interesting so far, but not too crazy yet. My MD goes with the lower the A1C the better. Less than 6, 130 two hours after meals, try to stay around 90, and it's okay to be in the 50's and 60's. 
Best book out there to read and I felt really prepared me for this:

I keep it at my bedside and reread parts (especially now that I'm preggers) and because it has a month by month break down of what to expect and how to handle it.
It's written by a T1D doctor and T1D educator - BOTH mothers, so it's legit life experiences and their healthcare backgrounds. LIFESAVING. Seriously.

I’m a type 1 I’ve already had one baby but my A1C wasn’t great in the beginning I didn’t get a good A1C till I was almost 7-9 weeks. It could have just been me but I got hit with the flu and virtigo during pregnancy . I delivered at 36weeks, I didn’t have a birth plan but knew I wanted to push myself over a C section. My doctors advised me and pushed (politely) for me to have an epidural to keep my blood pressure down. Overall my labor went fine and my son was healthy a little big for 36 weeks but no health concerns he turns four this coming week. :) wishing you all the best

Most recent A1C was 5.6 🙂🙃 and I was 4 +3 at that appointment.
P.S. As soon as you know you're pregnant, call your endo and make an appointment! They'll want to see you ASAP!! And don't be afraid to talk about it with them beforehand, they'll let you know the expectations.
Oh and the book talks about birthplans!! Which is how I'm modeling mine (after theirs)!

Hey I'm a t1d, my a1c used be 11 now it's around 6. All I did was chose the right foods to eat and did easy suitable workouts. That is what I told to do from my dr. It wasn't easy but it's not very hard for me. For my birthing plans I am considering having a child but I can only have 1 because of t1d. If I have more than one child I could have a high risk pregnancy. That's just for me it could be a whole different for you because every t1d is different.
