What could be going on?!

So I have noticed the past couple days my vagina has been really itchy and super sore. There's no discharge or smell and it doesn't burn when I pee. It just feels a little irritated. I checked it with a handheld mirror(the best I could) and it looked totally normal. No redness or what could be a yeast infection. I also had my boyfriend look at it for me and he said it was completely normal looking as well. Him and I have only ever been with each other so I know it's not herpes, but what could it be? A reaction to something? Or just sore and irritated? I don't really wanna go to the doctor because it's such a hassle!
