Would you get back with a cheater?

I know many situations are different in this case. But if he was the absolute soul mate, love of your life, and you felt he made a true mistake, would you?

I did with my ex. It ended 8 stressful months later. It gets harder as you go on. 6-12 months post infidelity is the hardest time. I wouldn't put myself through this again for a BF. I thought he was it for me too. I couldn't have been more wrong.

My husband and I have been together 10 years now. We have 3 kids. He's my world. I love him more than anything. I do not believe my husband would ever risk our family or our marriage to cheat. He's truly a decent human being and he wouldn't do that especially to our children. BUT IF it happened, how I responded would depend on how he acted.

One time? Full affair? Emotional affair or just sex? Totally depends. And is he remorseful? Placing blame? Did he come forward on his own or did I have to catch him? It all plays a role in how I'd move forward. If I decided it was worth my time, I wouldn't do it again without counseling and professional help. Like I said, 6+ months post infidelity is when the real work starts and it gets really difficult to forgive and move on. There is a reason most marriages fail at this point. I wouldn't go through all of the work this would entail without professional help, and certainly not just for a boyfriend. Never again

But if he felt you were truly the love of his life & soulmate, you honestly think he would have cheated? Sounds like a one way street to me & I wouldn’t have that. Soul mate or not, if the urge to cheat is bigger than the love, you simply don’t love them enough

If he was your soul mate he wouldn't have cheated. You don't make a mistake like that. He made a choice. If you think you can move on and be happy and not worry he will do it again then try again but if you don't think you could forgive then move on. Hearts take a while to heal.

If the person is truly your soulmate and you are met to be together then no one would have cheated in the first place. In order to value the person you're with you have to respect them. If they cheat then there is not respect. "Realizing" it after it happens doesn't mean anything if they didn't realize it before it during the action. 
I personally would never get back with someone who cheated. You lose the trust and end up living in fear and constant questions. I have been with my now fiancé for 9.5 years and never once have I ever thought it even wanted to be with anyone else. Same with him. There's been no such thing as temptations from any others. We are happy and in love and that is enough for us.

Cheating isn't just a "mistake" it happens intentionally. If they loved me at all they wouldn't cheat, ever.

No, I would never no matter how much I loved the person because you choose to cheat. You chose to put your dick in someone else or do anything else related to cheating. It's a decision. I don't tolerate any form of cheating. I'm sorry but if someone truly loves you, they would never chose to be unfaithful and hurt you. There's no excuse.

I guess my situation is a lot different. I went on vacation last year alone but I never told my SO I was leaving on my own. When I got to my destination I didnt have any contact for 4 days with him. I was so caught up on seeing family and going out that I didn't bother. Obviously anyone would imagine the worst if your partner left out the country and didn't even tell you. So he broke up with me. When I came back he was dating someone else and sleeping with her. We were trying to work things out and fix our problems but he was still sleeping with her. We weren't official but it still hurt since we were together for so long. But I couldn't really hold it against him since I had a fling when I went on vacation as well. We're doing much better now. We both recognize our mistakes and have way better communication
