Should people who blame the victim be able to get away with it, in your opinion?

In my opinion, victim blaming is one of the lowest things somebody can do. Sexual abuse of any kind can be extremely traumatising, devastating and completely ruin your life. Somebody can carelessly blame the victim and carry on like nothing happened, whilst their insensitive comment can do WAY more damage mentally than anybody would ever know.
I personally have experienced sexual abuse and rape as a child, I always thought it was my fault because I didn't stop it or fight back. I overheard older students in my school talking about rape, saying if you don't fight back it means you wanted it and it's your own fault. Even though this wasn't directly said to me, it played on my mind to the point I attempted suicide because I couldn't bare how 'disgusting' I was for letting it happen. I couldn't even imagine how horrible it would be to have somebody directly victim blame you, which does happen frequently.
I finally have realised that children are NOT sexual unless they're taught to be, which I was, and it was absolutely not my fault in any way. It is nobodies fault no matter their age, race, gender, sexuality, situation, what they were wearing, what they were doing. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT.
Victim blaming really can push people over the edge. 
So my question is, should people who directly tell a victim of sexual abuse/rape it is their fault be allowed to get away with it? If not, what should happen?

We need to work towards a social agreement that finds victim blaming unacceptable. Not unlike the movement towards standing up to bullying. Years ago, people would say it's just kids being kids. Being a bystander was acceptable and held harmless. People would question the behavior and personality of the bullied. I've seen a change in the right direction over the past 40 years. It's one of the things a appreciate about millennials.

Victim blaming is shitty, but I'm not really sure what you're asking. 
On Glow, no. Victim blamers should be dealt with by admin and that behavior should be called out by users. 
In safe spaces, no. Those people should be asked to remove themselves. Then talked to and only be allowed back under specific circumstances. 
In day to day life, yes. We can't legally stop people from airing all their asinine opinions, but we can filter them from our lives.

If it happens in a school, they should be kicked out.
If it happens in a work place, they should be fired.
If it happens in social media, they should be immediately banned from the site.
In some cases that person should get charged with harassment, bullying or emotional abuse.
I also think anybody who disagrees with victim blaming shouldn't just be a bystander when they witness it. Defend the victim and don't allow people to be so gross!

Saying "if you dont resist you wanted it" is ridiculous. You don't know what the abuser can do or has. You don't know if they're stronger than you, has a gun, a knife, etc etc. It's terrifying. When I was raped I was left off the side of a highway at night and told to keep walking into the woods and if I looked back he would shoot me. Any situation of sexual abuse can turn violent quickly. I've dealt with feeling to blame because of the situation I put myself in, and why didn't I fight back, why didn't I be a "hero" to myself? If I had fought back (not knowing he had a gun until after) would I still be here? I am slowly but surely realizing all of that is bullshit, because I couldn't have known any of that was going to happen. Blaming the victim is just plain wrong and awful, and NEVER called for.

It's harassment. Unfortunately, it would have to be severe and provable beyond a reasonable doubt to actually be able to charge them with harassment.

Get away with it? Yeah. I mean it does suck, but people are just mean. You can't throw everyone in jail or fine them for saying something mean. I've been blamed for my abuse too and as much as it sucks, there's not really a punishment that would make sense or do justice except for maybe showing them how shitty it is to say that.

They shouldn't go to jail or anything like that, but they should be called out every time and more attention should be brought to the harm they cause.
