Do soulmates exist?

I just thought it would be a fun question to ask because some people believe they do and some think its crap. I personally have no clue. I recently met this man and it was amazing we both just couldn't believe the connection we shared it was incredible. Problem is he is 9 years older than me, while I'm in college and we are just at completely different points in our lives. So from both ends we agreed that it wouldn't work. But now that I have no way of contacting him I'm starting to really regret my decision, because if soulmates do exist it's once in a lifetime. Not saying he was mine but that fact that I'll never find out sort of haunts me. I told him everything about me in one night and I've dated guys for months who never learned certain things about me. The feeling was unreal. What do you ladies think?
