First Appointment?!

So my OB doesn't bring you in until your 8 weeks pregnant. I'm currently 6 weeks. Just wondering how you ladies are already having ultrasounds at 5 weeks? Is waiting until 8 weeks not normal? I'm so ready for my 1st appointment!

My midwives said they don't do 1st appt until 10-12 weeks unless there's some sort of history. I had a miscarriage last year, so they're seeing me at 8 weeks. I have no idea how these women are getting such early u/s!

My OB told me 6-7 weeks for my first u/s. We had a chemical pregnancy 6 years ago and this was the 5th month of fertility meds due to me not ovulating properly. So he wants to make sure there is something there and not chemical again. Otherwise it's 8 weeks normally.

With my first I didn't go to the doctor till around 10 weeks. This one I'm going at 5 weeks because the urgent care doctor thought my 10 month old son had measles and wanted to make sure I see my obgyn asap

My first appointment isn't until October 3rd and I'm 7 weeks 5 days today... it seems to be taking forever! My dad bought me a fetal heart rate monitor! Just waiting it to get here in the mail

My doc was the same way, then I miscarried. She told me when I became pregnant again, she would bring me in much earlier. Today, I'm waiting to hear back from MD office about scheduling.

The only thing I can think is some girls might tell their dr they don't know when their last period was so they take them in early?

My doctor doesn’t schedule the ultrasound until 8 weeks.  When I have my viability scan I will be 8 weeks and 4 days.

My doctor is the same way. Will not see me until 8 weeks. I think it's because if you get one too early and are unable to see the baby but just a sac then moms get scared. We all want to see our babies asap but I would rather wait then worry because I can't see anything.
