Tattoo Pain?

I'm thinking of getting one that goes down my spine, I've always thought that they were pretty. It would be my first tattoo so idk what to expect. How bad is the pain?

It's different for each person and believe me when I say it's something you can't fully explain.
Your body will go into shock - That could manifest differently for you than it did for me. I went pale but that was it. A friend of mine passed out. Another was really sick.
For me the feeling was like someone running a straight razor over sunburn.

Bony areas hurt the most, your spine is definitely a sensitive area but there are definitely worse areas.

don't do that as your first! ouchy! It was a strange feeling but i could literally feel sharp nipple pain it was not fun

Honestly in my opinion with tattoos I'd recommend not be your first. The spine is very painful. Start with an easier spot , but that's me.
