Nipple piercing nerves

Sooo, i’m turning 23 this year and I’m wanting to get my nipples pierced... my nipples personally aren’t very sensitive and take a little more manipulation to get a reaction and I heard that piercings would increase my sensitivity and that’s what my goal is But I’m really afraid of the pain, I have my upper cartilage pierced, and it didn’t hurt at all except for a little stinging after, I was hoping that someone could compare the two piercings if you have them or had an experience that they can compare the pain to... I know it may be hard because everyone’s tolerance is different but I’m in need of some reassurance
