In need of some potty training advice!

My 23 month old girl seemed ready to start, today is day 2 and all of a sudden has started crying whenever we try to get her to sit on the potty. We've been giving stickers, after 5 got a prize. Day 1 we had a 20 minute timer then increased to 40 mins. Today we eventually stopped the timer and just reminded her to tell us. 1 accident today so far vs 3 yesterday.

So it's been a positive experience or so we thought. My husband feels like giving up and I'm getting frustrated too. What do we do?? Change something? Stop training and try again in a few weeks? I obviously don't want to stress her out but at the same time we thought she was doing so good at it!
