Am I being unreasonable?

So I'm getting a C-section Tuesday and told everyone that I don't want any visitors for the first few hours after my surgery and then only the grandparents until the next day. I said everyone can visit the day after my surgery but my FIL is being difficult. He's mad and throwing a fit that my husbands sister can't come up the first day to see the baby. My FIL favors his daughter and is very close to her. I feel it's unfair to say she can come up and not my siblings.

I think you're being very reasonable. That's major surgery. If they are giving you stress then I wouldn't let them come at all till they can get some respect. This time is about you your partner and your new baby. Take care. X

That isn't unreasonable at all! You are having SURGERY! I wouldn't think it was unreasonable to only allow your husband until the next day. Stick to your guns, your recovery is more important than hurt feelings.

I didn't even call my dad till we were leaving the hospital to let him know we had her and he could visit her at home, lol! Sorry, but it's your body, your baby and your rules. Seeing a bunch of people after major surgery is of the last of priorities for me.

You are not being unreasonable. After having an emergency csection I didn't have visitors until almost 12hours later. Not only do you want time to bond with baby and get in your skin to skin, you're exhausted, numb from the waist down and probably disheveled. I was grateful for the extra time with my baby and the opportunity to eat, relax and wash my face when the feeling had come back to my legs.

I think your being reasonable its your child and yoyr partners its your decision  no one else's!! I have only got my partner my mother and my stepdad only because he's taking us home ..everyone will visit when we are out of hospital. don't feel pressured this I ultimately your decision.. the family have to suck it up! xx

My SIL had the same wishes. We really didn't give a hoot that we came on day 2 instead of day 1. Who cares. I don't understand why all the drama.

There's nothing wrong with making people wait to come see you and the baby. This is a major surgery and is it too much to ask for you and your husband to have your own time with YALL'S baby for a bit? No! FIL can get the F over it! Personally, I've had 2 c-sections and was vomiting so much afterward I made everyone leave. I actually prefer for people to come visit after we've been discharged from the hospital. Your baby, your rules, girl! And congratulations! ❤️

If he continues to be a dick about it just tell him not to come to the hospital, you have every right to decide how and and when you'd like visitors!

He is being crazy. You are having surgery!!! Jesus! Give a list of people to the nurses and don't let anyone else in! I'd say to even say only a couple people at a time to not stress you out.
