8 days before period

Is 8 days still too early to be testing? 3 days ago I used a clear blue which showed a very faint line and this morning I tried the first response for the first time and it’s clear it’s negative. I feel silly as I know I shouldn’t be testing yet but I was just curious and now I feel down especially since I’ve been having symptoms but now I’m thinking it might just be PMS. I have a 16 month old son and remember all these symptoms - low dull cramps, low back ache, dizziness, slightly sore boobs, irritable. I also just came off the pill a month ago. My cycles have always been super regular. Every 28 days. I think I’ll resist and test again when my period is actually due!
