What's your contraction story?

I'm curious to know what your story is on when and where or what you were doing when you had contractions. When you felt the baby was coming and so forth. Looking forward to hearing your story! :)

my mother thought the hospital was gonna send her home so they went shopping for clothes and got donuts while she was in labor. they finally get to the hospital and they were basically like shit you're having a baby right now lol. I was almost born at a department store

I woke up at 7am to a contradiction, it was mild and I wasn't sure if it was true labor, maybe Braxton hicks. they kept happening, so I timed them. they were 2 min long 8 minutes apart. I still wasn't sure but had to begin to keel over a bit to get through them. When they didn't stop I knew it was time, the consistency let me know...they didn't stop even if they were 8 min apart. I went in and was 3cm, they had me walk the hospital for an hour and I came back at a 5. doctor broke my water and then a few hours later i was at a 10 ready to push..30min later baby was born. easy peasy. 39 weeks. btw even on the way to the hospital I wasn't sure, they actually DID begin to stop while I was in the car and I felt kind of like I was wasting my husband's time just thinking or imagining it was labor haha

I was 40+6 when I went into spontaneous labour. I was asleep at 1:30am and woke up with what I assumed was gas pain.. I laid in bed awake for half an hour and the pain started again.. i was then positive it was contractions so I got up out of bed and the contractions were then 15 minutes apart, 10 mins, 5 mins, then we headed into hospital. I laboured for 22 hours but didn't dilate passed 7cm so ended up having an emergency c-section.

I woke up to regular contractions (coming every 5 minutes and lasting at least a minute). After timing them for over an hour I decided to wake my husband so he would know what was going on. I had planned to labor at home for as long as possible, but wanted to be prepared to leave at any time so I hopped in the shower to get ready. Once out of the shower my water broke and because i had tested positive for group b strep that meant we had to get to the hospital to start antibiotics. I had my son 14 hours later.
