Is it ok to not go to my neighbors daughter's bday party?

She turns one this week. I was TTC before my neighbor got pregnant. I had a breakdown when the baby was born. Seeing her brings such horrible feelings of jealousy and resentment and I hate myself for it. It hurts to be around her. I was invited to the birthday party. Is it ok if I don't go?

It's more than okay that you don't go. You don't need to explain the reason why to anybody. You don't owe anyone anything. I also had a miscarriage and situations like this are terrible to put yourself in. I would actually recommend not going until you feel better about what happened. Obviously it's always going to hurt but that awful feeling that it's you're fault and the feeling of jealousy does get better. Everyone is different and there is no certain amount of time that will make it better. Keep your head up and if you need to stay at home and cry during this party by god you stay at home a cry. No shame in that. Good luck❤️

I miscarried my first baby in April. I knew a few women that were pregnant close to my due date, it became so difficult to see post on Facebook that I unfollowed them. I was invited to one of their baby showers this past weekend and I said I was busy. You do what you feel is best for you. I pray you get your baby soon.
