Natural Hair. Is this a good idea?

I have been natural for 3 years. My hair has also been braided since the end of May. My mom was telling me that I should take my hair down and have a stylist do a treatment on it. I was thinking about taking it down tomorrow and washing it and then seeing the stylist when I have more time. Would this be bad?

The sooner the treatment the better but you'll survive if you don't do it right away. The thing is your hair hasn't gotten a lot of attention in braids so the treatment helps to bring it back to life and avoid breakage. If you can even just go to a beauty supply store and find a deep conditioner, apply it, put a shower cap on for 30 Minutes then wash it out, that could hold you off until you go to a stylist. As soon as you take out braids, wash your hair and do a deep conditioner. That's what I would do if you can't see a stylist right away
