Appropriate time to leave a month old for a party?

I wouldn't be comfortable with my baby being a month old. I'm probably going to skip out on my cousin's wedding because her wedding is 2 hours away and I will be breastfeeding my one month old then. That's just me. I really don't want my newborn exposed to that many people before his /her shots, and there is no way for me to be away from her for that long without a stash of breastmilk. I guess if you are formula feeding and had someone you trust, sure why not. It's your baby, your comfort level. But if you are asking here, I'm thinking that you have second thoughts.

My baby was 3 or 4 weeks old when my inlaws watched her so we could go to dinner and a movie. no it wasnt a party but we were gone about 4ish hours. If the parents dont get wasted, and dont stay out all night (unless it is already agreed upon that they will be gone over night) then i see no issue

Personally, I waited for 3 momths but it was a LONG 3 months. I would have loved to go out and BREATHE for a night before then. If you have a good opportunity to go out for a night, go for it!! As long as baby is allllll set up with a responsible person/family member.. I see no problem with it.

What type of party? How long will you be gone? Who are you leaving them with? I would consider these factors, but honestly you can’t just stay cooped up in the house all the time. I’ll be leaving my 2.5 month old  with my dad who will be visiting to go to a dinner party in a few weeks. We’ve left the LO with my parents when he was two weeks to go to brunch for my birthday. I think it all depends and what your comfort level is.

I left my baby at 10 days old with my SIL because my gran was in hospital and yeah it was really hard but I knew he was in safe hands with his auntie and cousins who adore him and if he wasn't okay they would ring me and we could go back. I think as long as you've got someone you would trust to look after your baby it's fine and the earlier you get that first time out of the way, the easier it'll be in the future I think! :)
