What do think about membrane sweep?

My midwife offered me membrane sweep. I haven't read anything negative about it but still it doesn't sound safe and natural.

Answer

The only negative thing about it is that it only works about 10% of the time. It usually only works if your body is already close to labor and you're fully effaced and partly dilated. I'm planning on asking my midwife to perform one at 39 weeks but if I'm not close enough I'll skip it.
