Anybody had their gallbladder taken out?

Question

I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder taken out. I have gallstones and acid reflux and I gained 18 pounds in a month and a half.  I'm in pain everyday it feels like my food ain't digesting or I haven't eating at all. I'm big as ever and it's depressing. anyone had problems with their gallbladder? I'm not pregnant again and when I go shopping I want to cry because I put on so much weight

I got mine removed at 16 (I'm 18 now) it was the worst thing I could ever experience. Around at 15 I was eating tons of takis and hot cheetos then one night it hit me hard. I woke up out of a sound sleep and ran my butt in the bathroom and vomited. My mom rushed me to the hospital and did an ultrasound on me and told me I was developing gall stones badly. I did gain about 18-20 lbs. So after a year I was scheduled to get it removed on July 31st (I believe) and it was just scary for me but after I recovered I felt great and I only have the 4 scars :) the weight gain you get after surgery and recovery do some light weight exercises and gradually go up :) you should go back down to your normal weight or even less :)

I had mine taken out when I was 14 after 18 months of sickeness, the healing process isn't bad at all. Don't be worried!!!

I'm well on my way to having mine taken out. I found out last week that I have polyps in my gallbladder. This week i have been constantly nauseous and my husband has to make me eat, otherwise I will not eat because it hurts so bad. I go to the doctor Friday to schedule a HIDA scan.

I never had any problems with gallstones until I was 35 weeks pregnant. I had a c-section in March, by April I got pancreatitis so it had to come out. Easy Laporoscopic procedure with minimal healing time. Felt amazing after it was out.

I had mine removed right after my 16th birthday and I'm 18 years old now. It stopped functioning when I was 10, and every doctor I went to for the immense pain told me I had a kidney infection (even if my blood tests showed no infection). Eventually I convinced a doctor that it was something else. By that time, I couldn't sit up straight or move much. After 3 months of tests they decided to remove it. Not going to lie, it was pretty painful and felt really weird. But now I have a cool scar in my belly button that every boyfriend I've had loves to play with (and I play with it too lol). After about a week I was mostly back to normal. After the 2 weeks were up I was totally fine!

After my 2nd baby my ob did an ultra sound and found them. I was sent to surgeon who had me in surgery 2 days later. Apparently I didn't feel the gull bladder attacks while pregnant but after having my baby it was horrible. It took 2 weeks to heal but after 4 days I was doing everything because I had a 3 year old, new born and school. I have 3 teeny scars. But I wish I still had my gull bladder because I have "tummy troubles" all the time. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't so I hate going anywhere to eat besides home.  It's not a bad surgery. The air they pump you with made my shoulders hurt so bad. And I slept on the couch sitting because it hurt to lay down. You will do great though.

I have except I let it go and lost like 45+ lbs. I ended up so sick I got my fall bladder out and when I woke up the doc said I needed my appendix out too! After surgery you will be pumped full of air so you can't laugh and you'll need to lay on your side...fart and burp a ton! For acid reflux I suggest no spicy foods tums all that nonsense...yogurt is my best friend. My healing time from surgery was about a few wks. If you have any other questions let me know!

I had mine removed a year and a half ago. I never knew I was having problems until it was to bad that I was in the hospital with antibiotics in my iv for almost a week before they could do surgery. But after surgery within just a few days I was back to my old self. Good luck with the surgery :)
