Extroverts-is there such a thing as too much socialization?

I am an extreme introvert and I'm trying to understand extrovertism. Do you ever get sick of people and want alone time? Do you feel like you're really yourself when there's people around?

I often feel so exhausted & drained after having to be around people! Social interactions with new people especially draining-I don't know why but they just do not interest me at all. I try to limit social situations so that I have time to "recharge" between them. I feel like I also tend to over read into things that people say and beat myself up about things that I say...ugh it's exhausting just thinking about it lol

Honestly, I don't even know what I am anymore. I grew up as an introvert with a lot of social anxiety. I had problems going to school since age 1. When I changed to a new school at first grade, I had panic attacks. Family and social events was something that I had to endure. I improved a lot with time and could function well as an adult, however I was considered a very reserved and "cold" person.
Then, last year I moved to a different country with a different culture. Relatively soon, I learned that here I am considered open and very friendly. People say that I have a "warm" expression and I "smile with my eyes". I became one of the most "popular" persons at my workplace (still no idea how or why). As a result, I started bringing people together just by sitting in the cafeteria. The interesting thing is: I am essentially the same, it is the social environment that is different. Activities are often quieter and more "chill". People don't assume that I don't like them because I don't share details of my life from day one. People don't assume that I don't like them because I want some quiet time for a hobby on certain days.
I never thought I would be a "extrovert". However, if I take a typical test today I could easily be classified as an extrovert. For example, one common question is about feeling energized vs. tired after social events. If I go hiking with friends in my home country, there will be multiple, likely loud, conversations going on at the same time all the time. People will be often cracking jokes and takings group pictures. I would soon feel tired and try to step aside for a break. This would cause someone to come to me and either ask if something is wrong or make a joke about my anti-social manners. When I go hiking here, it is normal to be quiet for several minutes because we are enjoying the view or the hiking itself. People talk softly, being loud is considered rude. If one conversation topic starts, others standing nearby avoid start parallel conversations. Groups pictures and jokes occurs less often. I don't feel that I need "a break" at all. In fact, I already plenty of what I would do in my "social break" in the other case: walking quietly and admiring nature. This is also means that I am more like myself. I still take some alone time during parties, but I don't feel pressured to be laughing and jumping every second.

I'm an introvert, but my oldest daughter is an extrovert. While she needs to be around people way more than I do, she also takes time to be alone when she needs it.
