is this pointless?

Has anyone tried a natural unmediated iui? Like im not even using a trigger, i really feel as though im wasting my time. Its our first iui, heres a tiny bit of background info. We are both young, i get a + opk normally around CD 14/15. I believe i ovulate sometime the next day, because my opks are starting to fade by the next evening. And DH has low count. Todays CD 2, is it too late to call and ask to have the medication or should i wait it out and try the natural iui? I really want the best chance, as everyone does. What would you do?
