Do you suffer from insomnia?

I have the worst insomnia and was wondering if this is something that plagued other women.

right now, I'm exhausted. it's after midnight and i still lay here ...awake. when I do go sleep, it usually isn't sound. I toss and turn, get thirsty.  good times.

I suffered from bad insomnia a few years ago. I had to take ambien for over a year in order to fall asleep. I eventually was able to stop taking it and then took melatonin for about a year. Now I don't take anything and sleep great. But I have a routine I have to follow before bed- I have to either read a book I've already read or watch a tv show I've already seen. If I do that my brain will kind of turn off and I can sleep. If I don't do that I lie awake for hours, even if I'm not worried or thinking about anything in particular.
