Protein drinks okay?

Question

Just found out I have GD. I struggle to have time to eat due to having to go on home visits for child protection all day. Are we allowed protein drinks as snacks?

Now that GD forces me to have breakfast every day I have a been finding that a protein shake keeps my sugar in check and is still pretty tasty and healthy. I have one cup unsweetened almond milk, a scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1/2 a banana (sometimes), a tablespoon of almond butter/peanut butter and about a cup of fruit (strawberries or blueberries usually). Def a nice quick option that shouldn't spike your numbers! This is the brand I use FYI.

the Atkins drinks are OK but I don't recommend just drinking them in place of a snack or as a constant thing. My nutritionist suggested having it with a snack or maybe my lunch or dinner
