Thoughts? First cervical check.

I'm 36+3 and had my first cervical check today. My doctor said I'm dilated almost to a 2 and baby girl is head down, sitting very low. He said I'm 50% effaced and measuring 38 weeks. Cervix is soft and thin. He said "I could go into labor anytime." But not sure if that's technically accurate for most women? I'm a first time mom so I have no idea and I know everyone is different. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone else had this at their appointment and went into labor shortly after or possibly even the complete opposite?
