Rehoming fees on kittens?!!

As I scroll through Craigslist, respond to local postings in my town, I'm finding it more and more common that people are asking for rehoming fees on KITTENS? this is crazy to me??? When has anyone ever had to pay for a kitten. Kittens are a dime a dozen, I found one I really liked, they say $35 rehoming fee. Like what???? Where they do that at? I could understand like a Siamese or Himalayan or Persian or you know a pure bread cat but just a random batch of kittens??? Do people reaaaally go for this?? Not that I couldn't pay the fee but that's just ridiculous to me. And a no go. would you pay it
