Switch from the pill to the ring?

So today my gynecologist convinced me to try the Nuva ring out instead of the Viorelle pills. I'm pretty hesitant because I still have a lot of questions. How are the symptoms different than the pill being that they are the same hormones? Don't spare any details. Also how do I know when to push enough. Outside almost feels tighter. I just want to make sure I get this right!
