Isla.... Too popular? Too trendy?

I have loved the name Isla for a couple years now and all of a sudden Im reading that it's super popular and trendy. So, do you know lots of babies being named Isla? Is it popular in your area? Thanks!

It's a super trendy name right now and only getting hotter! It is really pretty so it's a tough call. Would you consider Lila instead? Just a thought because it isn't that trendy.

My three year old is named Isla. We love her name and get many compliments on it. Only problem is that they always pronounce it Iz-la at the doctors office. I've only run into one other Isla so far. I don't think it's too popular yet.

Now I can't come up with another girl name I like as much! What else is on your list?

I've honestly never heard of that name before and I work in childcare so I hear a lot of names! Go for it! It's very pretty and unique

I've wanted to name my baby isla ever since I had a girl at the camp I work at named isla! LOVE that name! Name your baby that for me ;) my bf is worried because his whole family speaks Spanish and he's afraid they will call her iSla like pronouncing the S since you do in Spanish :/

I don't think it's too trendy, but remember that trends change. It could become popular in a few years.

But I don't think that's a good reason to not name your child a name you love.

If you love it, use it. Even if you pick something more rare, there's no guarantee that it's not going to pick up in popularity after you give the name to your baby. The name we picked for our first had the largest jump in popularity of any other name the very next year. I still love it though!

That's what we're naming our August baby 😊 I have also loved that name for a couple of years. I work with preschoolers and 0-3 year olds and have yet to come across it. According the the SS registry, it didn't make top 150 in the US in 2014. I'm hoping it doesn't get super popular. But if it does, I'll still love it!
