Boyfriends job

So for months my boyfriends been doing management at a restaurant and he's good. Like ANYTIME they need him to come in he does it, he'll go in early for shifts and stuff like that and do other people's jobs. Well his boss has been talking him up for months about making him a salary manager, even took training that cut his pay and I supported him because he really wanted this position. He's been working there awhile. Well today he just texted me and said that they hired a new salary manager and he's pretty upset because he's been bending over backwards for that position for months putting up with bull crap to get this promotion that his boss kept telling him he was getting, just to walk into work this morning and them pretty much spit in his face. He's still a manager but even some cooks get paid more then he does and he's pretty upset What would you ladies do? Would you tell your man to look for another job or keep putting up with it? I'm pregnant due in January and he's working two jobs as it is and I feel useless to him rightnow. I'm really pissed they did this to him because I see how stressed out his job makes him and all the crap he takes when no one else does their job so they leave it to him to get done and it's just not fair. Idk what to do here

EDIT: so he just messaged me and said he wants to apply at other places! Thank god I hated this job I just wanted to support him in whatever his choice was!
