Have you ever seen blood when pumping or breastfeeding?

Yesterday I noticed blood coming out while I was pumping! I panicked and called my aunt who is an OBGYN. Based on what I told her, she told me it was normal. Just from having my pump up too high at the end of a pumping session. I was freaked! I didn’t even know that was an option!

I had cracked bleeding nipples very early on (I think my son was 10 days old) He also spit up all the time. I didn't think much about my bleeding nipples other than the fact that they hurt like crazy... until he spit up bloody milk. I paniced and though he was bleeding internally. I though he would be dead before I could get him to the ER. Pure mommy panic for about 20 seconds, then I realized it was my blood.

no but my sister-in-law babysat a little boy and his mother would leave blood clots in her milk and she just fed it to him anyways sometimes Apparently that is normal

yes and if it bothers you, you can let your milk sit and pour out the blood when it separates. it won't hurt if you don't but it is an option if there is a lot of blood or you would rather not feed the baby pink milk. it is all about what you are comfortable with

If it’s IN your milk that doesn’t sound normal. If it’s from your nipple bleeding that’s normal.
