Cloth diapering?

Are any of you guys cloth diapering? If so, why? And what is your favorite brand

We started cloth on my 21.5month okd at 2weeks and this time will be bringing newborn cloth to the birthing center. I love Funky Fluff, they're my absolutely favorite, but pricey. Alvas and Sunbaby are also another brand that I both both are much cheaper and work just as good. I don't like microfiber inserts, so I use sewn snake style flour sack towels (can be found in the kitchen section at Wal-Mart or Target), bamboo, charcoal bamboo, hemp and zorb inserts. I just bought bumgenius all in one. They are one whole piece & not bulky. I'm trying out cloth because I'm thinking it will be cheaper in the long run & some disposable have chemicals. But my baby is 3 months. I don't think it's economical to do cloth for newborns.

We started cloth at 4 months with our first. We used a combination of alva pocket diapers and flip covers with fitted diapers under. We use disposable at night as he is a heavy wetter and was leaking every night. We plan to use our cloth with baby 2, just using disposable for the first few months before one size diapers fit. Alva are inexpensive and are actually my favorite ones out of all our diapers. We have some that we’re much more expensive and I don’t like them as much.

We plan on using disposable diapers for the first few months when they need a million diaper changes a day, then switching to cloth when it becomes more manageable. And disposable when we're out and about.

This is baby #2 for us. We did a mix of cloth and disposable with our first and plan on doing the same with our second. Our first was a marathon pee-er and could wet through an all-in-one in minutes, so we used prefolds (doubled up) with covers during the day. At night and while out we used disposable for convenience. Honestly, the main motivation for us was cost. Yes, it’s expensive to get started with cloth but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to shelling out a few grand for disposables over the course of 3+ years.
