Am I taking the right one?

Question

I had BV last week. Got metronidazole on Thursday. My vagina is back to normal so far. I'm also taking probiotics to keep it healthy as I'm trying to conceive.
Am I taking the right kind? My hubby says it shouldn't matter what kind of brand as long as its probiotics.

My opinnion is that it totally matters. Check the CFU's. Also make sure its a reputable brand that has done clinical trials. The type of capsule is also important because you want it to stay in tact until it reaches the intestines where it needs to be. I personally take Probio5, it has clinical studies backing it and it has added enzymes to help get rid of some of the bad bacteria as well as putting in some good. It also has S. Boulardi, if you've ever taken an antibiotic please make sure the probiotic you're taking contains this particular strain.

The pharmacist at the cvs you bought that at should be able to tell you, and if not they can advise you what to take instead.
