what does this mean?

Like, the other day, my boyfriend was throwing away papers and stuff. In the past recent weeks his ex has contacted him and he told me about it. When I came over on Friday night, we slept then the next morning, he was throwing away papers and stuff, then he came across old pictures of that same ex who hit him up and he crumbled them up and threw them away and I asked him why & he told me what was the point of keeping them? He showed me some pics of her and I asked him why dont he keep them for memories and he was like naw, I have you. And he took the pics and ripped them up and threw them away. What does this mean? 🤔 I mean, I still have pics of my ex from prom and stuff and i kept them for memories.. although it was a long time ago. I’m 20, he’s 23... & they dated for 5 years which is a long time, but im curious to why he didnt want to keep them ..
