What it looks like when tools are used in the kitchen to help you finish a recipe

I got halfway through the process of making eggplant parmesan up until I needed to use the sauce. I attempted to open the jars using all of the force that I have, but unfortunately they were the kind of jars that it seems like manufacturers purposely made them nearly impossible to open. I texted my husband while he was at work, and told him that I could not get the jars open. He told me to run them under hot water for a while, and so I did. Tried the hot water technique a few times, did not work. Finally, I thought outside of the box. I went into the garage, grabbed a tool (mind you I have no idea what the name of it is, or what it is used for), I picked it because it looked like it could be used for what I needed. I gave the jars a few good whacks. Sure enough, it got the job done!

Here is the end result

(my in laws came over, saw the jars, and thought my experience today was hysterical)
