No condoms on birth control?

Question

I'm really surprised at hearing that a lot of friends of mine have sex with their boyfriends without using a condom (taking birth control pills of course). 
How safe is it? Is there any risky dates or it's just the same?

I'd like to do that as well but I want to be sure first!

I've been on birth control (oral/nuvaring/implant) since I was 17, I'm 27 now. I've never used a condom ( while in a long term relationship, but did in shorter ones) and have never been pregnant or had a pregnancy scare. As long as you take your birth control as directed, faithfully, your chances of pregnancy are less than 1 in 1000.

I've been on BC for 6 years and I've never used condoms and never gotten pregnant. Then again there may just be something wrong with me...

If taken perfectly, birth control pills are 99% effective. If you miss pills or take them late sometimes, it's only about 90% effective.
