Late but BFN

I'm 4 days late but I took a test yesterday afternoon it was negative. Has this happened and anyone turned out pregnant? I have symptoms. I'm trying not to over think it.

Update: I'm six days late today. But I started spotting mucusy pink stuff a little yesterday and today. Still no actual period though. Scared to test and see that BFN. Doctor appointment tomorrow.

Update: 7 days late went and saw my midwife. Test was negative. Waiting on blood test results. She said I sound pregnant but I'm starting to loose hope.
