Standing full time jobs?

Question

So I just got accepted for a job that involves long periods of standing, but how?? The pay is great and I really need the money but does anyone have any tips? I read that compression socks could help?

Comforable shoes and socks! Pretty much everyone working in retail is on their feet the duration of their shift-7+ hours, I'd think they'd all agree that paying for comfortable footwear is a necessity! Also, love your body-be careful of your back, neck and shoulders as well!!!

When you said you got a job that requires you to stand the whole day i assumed it to be a teaching job
All my teachers used to tell us how tiring it was to stand all day
and In return we would tell them how tiring it was to sit all day

Comfortable shoes are the most important thing to think about. I work 10hr a day shifts in retail and I ended up doing serious damage to myself and adding to my existing back conditions (I have scoliosis) just by wearing terrible shoes for the better part of a year after starting my job. I finally found these memory foam, slip on Skechers (Relaxed Fit Breathe Easy) and they saved me from a lot of pain. Highly recommend.
