IUD lost and could be pregnant and sorry if I scare people my post is no intended to scare anyone

Sorry for long post

I have had the copper IUD in for nearly a year, I went to the sexual health centre to see if I could swap over to the depo injection as I have been having terrible cramps when I have AF, so anyway, I was told I was ok to have depo injection and the nurse said before I gave it you I will just check your IUD is ok and in place and when she checked she said oh no there is a problem and then said she couldn’t find the IUD after 30 minutes of searching for it she gave up and said I must do I pregnancy test which I did and it came back saying faulty so I have to do a test in three weeks time, I was due AF on the 1st of October and on that day I got pink watery discharge with a bit of brown when I wiped and cramping, then on the 2nd of October I got a mixture of pink discharge and red blood but quite heavy and then today which is the 3rd of October I am having pink and red spotting on and off, I really don’t know what’s happening, and whether or not I should do a pregnancy test sooner than 3 weeks. I have mixed feelings at the moment about it all, I do have to go for a scan when the appointment comes through, so that will give me some answers, I am with my boyfriend but we are not in a position to have children just yet and also I have two other children with my ex, and I don’t want to break their hearts if I am pregnant.

Why I might be pregnant or why I think I might be is because all of a sudden I am extremely tired I can smell things that I wouldn’t have smelled before and I am going off my food that I like and craving crisps which I never bothered with before especially spicy ones
