Tips for making cookies? 🍪

So every time I try to make cookies I fail. Cakes I can do with no problem but cookies nope. I've tried following so many different recipes to try and find one that works but still nothing.
I want thicker gooier chewy cookies. But they always end up really thin and crispy? 
I tried a batch today but have only cooked half, which came out badly. So is there anything I could do to save the second half and maybe make successful cookies tomorrow?

The recipe I use makes super soft gooey cookies. 
Here are the ingredients - 
1 cup butter (I use vegan butter) 
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup milk (I use almond milk) 
1 tsp. vanilla 
2 1/4 cups flour 
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda 
1 bag of chocolate chips (usually I use half the bag and that’s enough but you could use however many you want!) 
 
Preheat oven to 350.
In a bowl, soften butter but don’t totally melt it. Mix together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until creamy. Slowly mix in milk and vanilla until smooth. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix. Then add in chocolate chips. Bake for 8-10 minutes. 
When I share these with people they don’t believe me when I tell them they’re vegan. They’re seriously the BEST cookies I’ve ever had.

Have you tried to refrigerate the dough? That and make your cookies into tall piles instead of round balls.

thin and crispy might mean either the recipe isnt the best, or your oven is too hot or your pan is too close to the heat source, or your pan is too dark(nonstick pans make cookies crispier so u want them in for less time, or you are making them too small/having the oven too high. 
of course you will need an amazing recipe as alot of cookie recipes dont make gooey delicious cookies. i screenshotted my absolutely favourite recipe in the entire world. follow it to a tee. make sure you do not melt the butter just leave it on the counter to soften and than use it.
 it could be that your oven is too hot so set the timer for a minute or 2 earlier and if it looks like the picture get them out than. they will look gooey and undone but take the pan out and let them set for 5 mins and the hot pan will continue to bake them to perfection. good luck. tell me if any of those tips worked.

Try adding an extra tbsp or 2 of flour. Chill your dough. Use room temp ingredients.

I recently discovered adding baking soda (if it's not in the recipe) or adding more makes them bigger and fluffier and slightly undercooking em makes em perfectly Chewy! And also keep a slice of bread in the container to keep them moist.
