Which birth control is better ?

I'm 25 and a virgin. I'm getting serious with my boyfriend, so I want to get on birth control because we will be getting intimate pretty soon. However, I am unsure of which kind to take. I am plus size and I heard that some contraceptives makes you gain weight. I want to avoid that one. Which birth control is he better option ?

I really liked Mirena IUD. I've had it twice. Once for 2 consecutive years, had it removed to try and get pregnant with a third child and didn't happen, so had another one put in 14 months later but it was only in for about a year. It came out on its own and because I had NO period the entire time I had either IUD I bled like crazy, so thought that I was having a miscarriage (I've had 3) after getting pregnant with an IUD in. I went in to ER they took a blood test and said nope no pregnancy. I was dumbfounded. They told me I was just having a very heavy period, so I forgot about it. I ended up pregnant a year later (I only had a few very light periods that year, perfectly normal with an IUD) so all that bleeding was my body re-setting itself after no longer having a birth control. I only ramble on about this to tell you both pros and cons. Really rough sex I believe is what caused it to come out. I had my tubes tied after my third child, but I would absolutely use it again of I had to.

the mirena Iud... the only thing was my period was irregular when i had it for 5 yrs but it worked for me... i got pregnant when i was on the pill and the depo shot... Good luck girl!

They all do. I liked the patch but not recommended over ove 170lbs I believe
