Should I go to the ER?

So the past few cycles ive had (after not having a period for almost a year) have been SO heavy. I'm talking soaking through a super absorbent tampon in an hour maybe 2 if I'm lucky. I cant wear pads because ill bleed through them. And I have to get up in the middle of the night to change otherwise ill bleed through. AF started yesterday and ive been bleeding heavily since. I havent established a gynecologist here yet, as I just moved here. Should I go to the ER?

Called the tricare nurse line and they told me to be seen within 3 hours. I'm at the ER getting ready for an exam and got an IV.

I would go. when I was on implanon I didn't have a period for a whole year and then when it finally came I bleed from April to December so I think it's just your body catching up But if you are that worried you should go

Unless you’re feeling anemic bc if all the blood loss, I’d say try to stick it out and make an appt. probably just your body catching up after not bleeding for so long.

That's a tough one my instinct is no, but I also say listen to your body and if it's telling you something is not right then go. 
You could also find a nurse line at one of your local hospital and they will triage you and tell you if you need to be seen ASAP or if it can wait.

If your going through more than 3-4 super tampons in 24hrs. I'd suggest going to the ER or getting a GYN appt. asap.

Id say no. Its worth mentioning to your doctor when you find one but I wouldn’t say a heavy period warrants a trip to the emergency room. I used to bleed through super tampons with in 1-2 hours (i thankfully switched to a cup and now don’t worry about that) but im guessing since you didnt have your period all that time its not just heavier.
