Hair dye?

Is it ok to dye your hair when pregnant? Normally I do it myself out of a bottle but I’ve booked an appointment at the hairdressers to get my hair coloured but wasn’t sure if was safe or not

I’ve heard you should really wait until after the first trimester is over, but if you absolutely need to or really really want to then make sure you are going to a salon and let them know you’re pregnant so they can make sure to keep you in a while ventilated area. Don’t do it yourself. Good luck!

Absolutely. I'm a licensed cosmetologist. As long as you get it done professionally in a salon it is safe. Don't do it yourself at home- you won't have proper ventilation and the chemicals are much stronger in box dye. But in a salon you can rest assured that it is safe.

My hair dresser was pregnant when I went to see her and I asked her about it....she said it’s totally fine to dye your hair. The only things you might not want to do are bleaching and perms :)

I would wait until you are out of the first trimester. I dyed mine at home at 35 weeks and it was fine

some stylist have pregnancy safe hair dyes and really you should ask your doctor they'll give you the ok or no go for hair dying

Personally I'm going to hold off. I wouldn't want to chance it. For me I definitely can smell the chemical dye that goes on my hair normally not to mention what seeps into my hair follicles. But I'm sure some will say it's safe anyways
