Do you use purple shampoo?

I have blonde hair and want to lighten it up with out dye. Does purple shampoo work or do u have a better suggestion??

Purple shampoo just takes the brassy color out of blonde hair. Don't use too much and don't use it if your hair is damaged because it will make your hair PURPLE!

Use the John Freda lightening shampoo for blondes it worked really good when I dyed my hair blonde a few summers ago

I used to be a hairdresser and it will work to make it a little brighter and less brassy. It won't actually lighten it much though. And as another person mentioned, you don't want to use it too much because it will start to turn it purple. The only way to truly lighten your hair is with bleach or hairdye. Some ppl do use lemon juice but I'm not sure how well that works.

Purple shampoo won't lighten your hair, it'll just remove brass and yellow. I absolutely adore it for keeping my blonde fresh and ashy. I recommend only using a shampoo, not a conditioner and letting it sit for about 5 minutes or so. It's pretty drying, so don't use more than twice a week. And the Lush brand one is the best I've ever found and is much kinder to your hair!

I use it to tone my blonde hair. I wouldn't say it lightens, but I do notice my highlites look brighter. I use the Matrix one about once a week.

I use it on occasion but I bleach my hair first. I use it to take out the brassiness.
