What's the point of stitches?

I am almost 4 weeks PP and I'm still continuously bleeding. I decided to use a mirror to look down there because I've seen my stitches come out. I'm surprised that I'm still opened quite a bit. Aren't stitches suppose to keep you closed? And since the stitch already dissolved, shouldn't I be closed? I'm 2 weeks away from my 6 week check up, so I'm looking for other women's experiences.

it could be Lochia, some days it'd lighten up sometimes there'd be heavier bleeding didn't really stop until now that I'm 4 weeks pp, I had a second degree tear with 10 stitched I'm not brave enough to look just yet 😂😭

I know exactly what you mean I'm still spotting which is annoying I'm so tired of wearing pads my stitches have dissolve as well and is still a little open it probably normal unless you saw some type of infection you should be ok
