When my period comes, it gets very bad. I explained this to my mom about the cramps that sometimes never go away and pills don’t help. She seen me go through this and I tried asking her if I can get birth control so I can stop this and she said no I’m not old enough and for me to suck it up. I’m 18. My period is so heavy and bad I don’t know what to do. Sometimes I can’t even leave my bed. Would it be wrong for me to get birth control from planned parenthood and just pay out of pocket? Not that I’m trying to go against what she’s saying because she’s right, because she’s not, but because my period hurts so bad and she won’t let me do anything about it.

Yesterday I told my mom that it’s time I take control of my life instead of her making my decisions and controlling my life. I finally had the courage to tell her this after years of feeling this way. Thank you guys for all the comments. I will definitely go and explore my options with the doctor in the next few weeks.
